Discipleship.....and fearless generosity

In Genesis, God creates heaven and earth, creatures and plants, male and female.  When God rested, God looked upon it all and saw that it was 'very good.'  Then in an act of fearless generosity, God handed over the care of this beautiful creation to the humans. We are to manage this creation of God's.  We are its stewards.

Then, according to Luke, on a starlit night, God acted again in fearless generosity and gave to us God's very own presence in the gift of Jesus.  Now wherever we walk, Jesus walks with us.  Now whatever we experience, Jesus experiences with us. Now no matter what the oppression or stress, Jesus - God in the flesh - knows our dilemma.  God couldn't get any closer than that.  It was God's second amazing act of love for humankind.

Life at the beginning, life after life....this is what God's fearless generosity looks like.
