It was a frightening scene. A 3 week old was about to undergo brain surgery. Mom and Dad were frantic. Then the church secretary said to me, "Why don't you offer to baptize him in the hospital before the surgery?" Phone calls were made. Family members left jobs, found the baptismal suit from the last baby baptized and quickly gathered in a hospital room to join this young life to the death and resurrection of Jesus. Water was poured, promises made and remembered, names were spoken, tears were shed, prayers were lifted up. It was a moment of grace in the face of a massive unknown.
There's another one. A story about God at work in the world, in my world and in your world. A moment of grace. A gift for me to behold.
Have you written down one of yours yet?
